RBS healthcare snapshot 2014

It is often easy to think of UK healthcare services as a single, homogenous market, where variety of provision abounds but everyone involved is essentially performing the same, crucial task – the treatment and care of the unwell and the vulnerable.

But even a cursory look at the various subsectors that make up UK healthcare reveals it to be an endlessly complex market, where regulatory and funding issues differ significantly from sub-sector to subsector.

Not only do the drivers in each of the niches vary enormously, many of the markets are fundamentally different – both in terms of current levels of maturity and the pace of change.

To get a more granular view of the market today, then, HealthInvestor and RBS have teamed up to take a ‘snapshot’ of each of the main subsectors as they stand in the middle of 2014. By interviewing major players from each of the sub-sectors, the snapshot intends to perform a ‘litmus test’ of investor and operator sentiment in each part of healthcare services.

We hope you find the information useful and would be interested to hear how the data corresponds with your own view of the various areas of the market.
